The First Ever Philippine Bike Expo to Launch this November

Phil. Bike Expo 2014
With the increasing number of biking enthusiasts in the country, a need was identified.
That is to consolidate all biking related products and services and gather this significant market into one, premier, Biking Exposition. This idea was formed by a group of friends who, sharing the same faith and passion, formed Phil-Bike Convention, Inc. (PBCI).

The vision for Phil-Bike Expo is to be THE yearly event for the biking industry in the Philippines, and Asia, patterned after similar international shows that showcase latest trends, new releases, innovation, crucial topics such as safety, technology, and the like, and brings together all biking groups from various categories.

Alternatively, its aim is to affect positive change in the country by supporting related advocacies geared towards expanding and improving biking in the Philippines and sharing a portion of profits with identified beneficiaries.

(Below are the FAQs about this much-awaited biking exposition)

What is Phil-Bike Expo?

• Philippines’ first premium biking expo in November 15-16 at the World Trade Center Tent
showcasing various categories of bikes (BMX, Road, Urban, Folding, Mountain, custom) from favorite international brands and local Pinoy manufacturers. There are also apparel,
accessories, health, travel & technology products.
• Focus is on brand representation, majority of booths are large and separated from each other but price ranges of items are from low to high, for all levels of riders from beginner to highly advanced, kids to adults.
• Mix of interactive exhibit and retail space, apart from the brands we also have private
collections on display - rare & vintage bikes from the Pinoy Retrobikes Group, fixed gear from Manila Fixed Gear & custom low riders from Pinas Lowridaz and other areas to entertain even non-bikers.

Why did you organize this event?

• We have a lot of bazaars, competitions and other biking-related events but these are usually segmented per category like mountain, BMX, triathlon, road, etc. With more and more Filipinos seeing the benefits of biking, we saw the need for an Expo combining all categories and communities once a year in a premium venue such as World Trade to present brands, activities, and initiatives in this dynamic industry.
• The ultimate objective here is to spotlight how active the Philippine biking industry is and
present the country as a highly-attractive location for the Asian market. Our goal is to work on levelling with similar international shows so we can drive more opportunities for our local
manufacturers, distributors, dealers and retailers and provide Filipino consumers access to
more brands. Phil-Bike Expo 2014 is one step towards that direction.

What is your background, are you in the biking trade or an enthusiast?

• We (President Wilson Lim, Jr. and Vice President Aldrin Lim) are enthusiasts and have been trading rare & collectible bikes so we are pretty passionate about bikes. Our partners have absorbed this passion and saw the need for such a concept here in the Philippines. Together we formed Phil-Bike Expo but none of us hold commercial interests for any particular brand. This is one of the reasons why participating brands agreed to come together and showcase in the Expo - we are neutral and have no preference over any category or brand.
• The advocacies and initiatives related to biking are also very close to our hearts this is why
you’ll see the Expo have these incorporated in its activities. We have to come together as one community to promote biking and its benefits, as well as, do what we can to gather support for our local athletes and assist local communities who need bikes for transport.
